FamilyForward Campus Visioning Plan

St. Louis County, Missouri

In 2022 FamilyForward moved to a repurposed campus in St. Louis County.  Along with a Developmental Trauma Center, the Early Childhood Center and therapeutic preschool serves biological, foster and adoptive families by delivering comprehensive therapeutic and educational services.  The buildings on the campus of FamilyForward have been built to support these services - and the exterior of the buildings has the potential to augment interior spaces in these efforts.

Prior to major fundraising efforts, FamilyForward needed a long-term visioning plan to supplement their energies around the evolving campus. Acting as a comprehensive strategic guide, this Visioning Plan focuses on immediate, mid-term, and long-term vision opportunities that integrate essential elements such as safety, security, and sensory-sensitive spaces.  These spaces allow for both individual and group therapy, fostering a deeper connection to nature and exploration.

Grounded in robust analysis and numerous engagement opportunities with therapeutic staff, recommendations for improved connectivity and accessibility, future development, art integration, nature play, active recreation, and visual screening were devised.  These were prioritized and documented with funding suggestions, maintenance implications, and budget guidance.  Over time, FamilyForward can utilize this document to guide funding cycles and phase implementation.
