Plattin Peaks Trails Development Plan
Plattin, Missouri
Plattin Peaks Mountain Bike Park is a planned 575-acre outdoor recreation destination in Jefferson County, Missouri, designed to provide free public access to hiking, mountain biking, walking, running, birding, and other nature-based activities. The project seeks to create accessible, well-maintained trails for both novice and experienced riders while preserving the property’s unique natural resources, including mature forests, wildlife habitat, and approximately 70 acres of Ozark dolomite glades.
The park is envisioned as a regional destination that will attract cyclists, families, and visitors seeking close-to-home outdoor experiences. By bringing visitors to the area, Plattin Peaks has the potential to generate tourism revenue and support local businesses in hospitality, retail, food service, and other sectors. Proposed amenities include approximately 25 miles of trails, skills courses, pavilions, 20 cabins, 100 RV and camping spaces, a restaurant and bike shop, event facilities, and an amphitheater.
The project grew from Rene and Chris Creed’s commitment to cycling, children, and outdoor recreation. After leaving the motorcycle business, the Creeds developed cycling programs for children with special needs, donated bikes and helmets to Missouri schools, and established the nonprofit Living Life on 2 Wheels. Plattin Peaks represents an expansion of that mission by creating a permanent, community-oriented outdoor resource.
The development plan emphasizes environmental stewardship, thoughtful placement of facilities, and compatibility with neighboring properties by minimizing potential noise, light, and environmental impacts. The project also envisions partnerships with Jefferson County for outdoor education, youth biking clinics, health initiatives, conservation, and trail maintenance.
