The project involves creating a 575-acre mountain bike park on private land, offering free public access for hiking and biking. The park will feature 25 miles of trails, 20 cabins, 100 RV/camping spaces, a commercial building with a restaurant and bike shop, an event center, an amphitheater, skills courses, and pavilions. The park’s design aims to provide outdoor recreation while preserving natural resources, particularly through the careful placement of program elemetns to protect existing mature forests and 70 acres of ozark dolomite glades.

The development plan, which was designed for a zoning change from residential to a mixed-use district, outlines future construction and land use elements. The design process involved input from local business owners, cycling advocates, and the community. It focuses on minimizing environmental impact and ensuring compatibility with surrounding properties, especially regarding noise and light pollution. This park, twice the size of all Jefferson County public parks combined, addresses the county’s need for more accessible green spaces.

The project is funded through property sales and community donations. DTLS facilitated the design and documentation of the development plan, leading to its approval by the Jefferson County Planning and Zoning Commission in December 2024.
